Laundry Day!

I know every mother out there hates laundry. Ok maybe its just me. In my house we have tons of clothes b.c I hate washing clothes. If I can get away with not washing for 2 weeks I'm happy. The only problem with that is when I do finally wash it takes me all day. When I'm cleaning in one room the girls are making a mess in every other room. Oh well soon they will grow up and have to clean for me. I cant wait for that day. :)
So I was down stairs bringing up all the clothes I had folded when Breelynn comes around the corner and says," don't I look pretty". All I could do is yell GEORGIA! She comes around the corner, "what mom".
So I run up stairs hoping my bathroom wasn't covered in makeup. I had been scrubbing it earlier. This is what I found. At least Georgia is neat about putting on makeup. I guess when the day is over, all you can do is laugh and just be happy they got along for the few minutes. I love my girls they are the world to me.

I will always remember the fun times we have together.

7 Year's Ago

This is Doug

Seven Years ago today was the best day of my life. We have never written down the story so here it is!

I started out the day by playing golf with my Marine Corps buddies for a Presidents Day Tournament just outside Carson City NV. After the round my wonderful Fiance Mindy Whitney picked me up from the course. We drove to the court house in Carson City. Sitting outside the court house Mindy started to get cold feet and wasn't sure if she wanted to get married. She made me call my mother and tell her we were eloping. My mom was ok with it and told us she was happy for us.

Mindy had already broke off our engagement four or five times. The day before we drove up from Las Vegas with all of her things in the back of my Jimmy. I was done being rejected so in the parking lot I told Mindy if we didn't get married that day I was going to leave her in the parking lot with all of her stuff. (I don't know if I really could have done that!) But luckily we went in the court house and picked up our Marriage License right before it closed. They gave us a list of on call ministers that would be willing to marry us. After calling a couple we got a hold of Reverend Brown. We went to his house and with his wife as the witness we were married. His house was a double wide trailer in Carson City. Mindy was wearing a black skirt and black shirt and I was wearing black slacks with a shirt and tie.

We didn't have real rings because Mindy went through 5 different engagement rings and I wasn't going to buy her another one until we were married. The ring we had for me was stolen by Mindy's sister so we wouldn't get married. (Don't worry Kim we forgive you.) We used Mindy's Grandmother's rings to get married. After our little ceremony we drove into Reno and went to the jewelry store and purchased the original ring I got for Mindy when we were first engaged. We also purchased a cheap ring to serve as a filler for me.

After that we drove back to my base outside of Bridgeport CA and spent our first night together in the Barracks. Yep very romantic and I'll never hear the end of that one!

Despite all the odds and the doubters Mindy and I are still together. We are happily married or at least I'm happy. The day wasn't ideal but it has turned out to be one of the best days of my life because I have my wonderful wife to show for it.

Mindy I love you and I'm so thankful you didn't get out of that car. Thank you for sticking it out and I look forward to spending eternity with you!

Happy Valentines Day

This is Doug.
I don't know how many holiday's it is going to take but I keep testing the water. Mindy constantly tells me she doesn't want anything for a holiday but then with the holiday comes and I really didn't get her anything I'm in the dog house. Needless to say I didn't get my wonderful wife anything for valentines day.

To my wonderful wife that I love. Please don't set me up for failure by saying that you don't want anything when you really do.

Here are some flowers for you.

Fun Party Day with the Girl's Friend

This is Doug:

Mindy is hosting a Valentines Day party at the house today with the girls. Hopefully many pictures to follow. There were 10 children that RSVP. After this party we are trying to figure out what to do for Georgia's Birthday party in March. It is a Hanna Montana theme and Mindy's trying to find someone to dress up like Hanna for Georgia. I also want to check out this mini-golf place by our house to see if that would be fun for her. She always wants to play with her daddy.

Check back for Pictures!

Its cold outside

I am coming to a end with my time off. As a photographer my only down time is January and February. So every chance I get I want to spend time with my girls. I cant believe Georgia will be starting school in August. Where has the time gone. I remember when she was just a baby. There is nothing more important in life then spending time with your family. Georgia has really been getting into photography, Bree on the other hand is just happy when her sister is down stairs and she has the doll house to herself. Bree has really grown and it is so sad they are getting so big.
Today the girls really wanted to go see the snow since it was raining. We got in the car and took lunch and headed for the mountains. I didn't think it would be so cold. The girls were great sports they wanted to stay out and play in the rain. Here are a couple quick pics.

Georgia Needs to Remember This

This is Doug again I forgot to mention this.

Georgia spoke to her Grandmother, Cheryl Bills, on Saturday and had a good conversation on the phone. Her Grandma Bills lives in St. Anthony Idaho and doesn't get to see her near enough. Hopefully Grandma will come and stay in St. George UT for a couple of weeks before her mission begins again. Part of that call consisted of Georgia telling her Grandma that she had the best father in the world. That sure made my mother proud.

I pray that as Georgia grows up and becomes a teenager that she will still think I'm the best father in the world.

I don't know if I'm the best but I sure do know that I love me children and would do anything for them.

Georgia besides being my daughter remember that you are also a daughter of our Heavenly Father and he loves you too.

Her is a photograph that Mindy just posted on her blog of Georgia at 4 years and 10 months old.

Golf in St. George UT

This is Doug.
On Saturday I went golfing with a friend Mark Barnes in St. George UT. A lot of the people from his home town get together once or twice a year and play in a little two man tournament. I was put on the only three man team because some people didn't show up. This was only the second time I had golfed since late 2008. I had two knee surgeries on my right knee in 2009 so I didn't play at all that year.

Because I hadn't played in so long I was put on a team as the weaker golfer of the two. Then there was one man left over who happened to be the little brother of my partner so he joined us as a three man team. We ended up shooting six under par as a team and took second place.

I really miss playing golf and I was glad I could do it without my knees bugging me. Hopefully I will be able to get out and play more. I'm grateful Mindy let me go even though she had a photo shoot that morning. With my knee problems I am going to stop playing all sports except golf. My main goal now is just to get good enough to beat my brother Bryan on a consistent basis. I have only beat him once in my life and I had an unfair advantage.

I really need to get Georgia and Breelynn clubs so they can learn how to play. I need to spend more time with my children.

I almost got in a bad crash today!

Today coming home from work I was picking my nose while I was driving. Something that I do all the time. On a side note: after I had been married to Mindy for over a year I caught her eating her buggers. I love her so much but that was pretty gross.

So While I was picking my buggers driving this SUV swung across two lanes of traffic right in front of the car before me. There car was smoking and luckily I was able to hit my breaks before I hit the car in front of me.

I love my family and even though I am disappointed with my current job situation I need to be more grateful for what I have.

Shots!!!! I hate them

Today we had to go to the doctors for Georgia last 2 shots before she starts school in the fall. We were at the doctors and the doctor comes in, the first thing that Georgia says " I'm just letting you know I not getting my shots and I'm ok with not going to school". The doctor looks and me and says " Little does she know". Well I won the fight. I really hate going to the doctors when it is shot time. Although I have to say Breelynn didn't cry at all. She is so brave. I told Bree if she didn't cry then we could go to U Swirl. We did go to U swirl after and the guy there gave the girls to big stuff teddy bears.

I can say I'm so happy Georgia is done with her shots until she is 11yr.

P.S I had no idea Doug was posting on this blog. I do love my husband so very much.

Breelynn loves her Mudder

Breelynn our beautiful youngest daughter has a little bit of a speech problem. It isn't very bad but she has issues saying Mother. She always calls her mommy "Mudder"!

One of those precious things that needs to be written down to remember.

We love you Breelynn and so you remember you Daddy loves to call you BAB's

U Swirl

Today as a family we went to an ice cream / frozen yogurt shop by our house. The girls love this place because it is self serve. You get to choose from about 12 types of ice cream and then a bunch of different toppings. You pay by the ounce. It has to be the girls favorite place to go and mommy and daddy like it too.

I received some bad news today with my school. There are some issues with my financial aid that hopefully gets worked out or else I won't be able to graduate on time. I don't have the money to pay for the schooling right now. We will be praying hard that everything gets worked out.

Mindy and I are trying to decide if we want to go to Denver CO for my graduation but we won't have to worry about that if we can't get the financial aid part figured out. I know Mindy will be disappointed because she was looking forward to taking scenic pictures along the drive.

Church Today

I have decided that every Sunday Im going to post pictures of what they wore so everyone can it how cute they are.
They are holding their bread ball. They have to have one every Sunday before church

It's funny how we are reminded of things we need to do at church. Today the whole theme of church was family history and making sure we are keeping records. Specifically writing a journal or the big thing is now to write a blog. I guess there are even companies out there that will print out your blog in a book. If we ever get the blog big enough that is something I will look into. So here I am writing in the blog again for the second day in a row. I really should be doing homework but I'm burnt out from school. Two months to go and I'll be done with my MBA. So far I have a 4.0 but I'm so sick of school that it has been getting harder and harder to get my assignments done.

Funny story that happened today at church. Breelynn is 3 years old and has only been going to Sunbeams for a couple weeks now. She has a little friend named Taya Starley that is in her class. Taya's parents are from Twin Falls Idaho and we talk quite a bit. After church Mindy and I always ask the girls what the learned in church, how everything went and so forth. Georgia was quick to say that Breelynn and Taya got in trouble today in Primary and had to be separated. When we asked Bree what happened she said her and Taya were playing like they were at the park. Two lessons I have learned from this... Bree is more of a trouble maker than she lets on and for the time being our girls are going to tattle tail on each other. I'm not looking forward to the day when they stick together and team up against mom and dad!

Mindy went to a lighting workshop for her photography here in Las Vegas yesterday and hurt her back. They didn't have enough chairs at the workshop so she was sitting on the ground because there weren't enough gentleman to give up their chairs to the women there. This workshop was free and Mindy was so shocked that someone would offer a free photography workshop... I'm not surprised at all because I understand sales. My suspicion was just confirmed because she just showed me over $700 worth of equipment she needs from the workshop and has to purchase it by Thursday to get a 10% discount. Ladies and gentleman if you didn't catch on, that is how the company can give away a free workshop!

I love my children and wife.

Till we meet again! Doug Bean
